  1. Hi Guys,

Great to hear that there still overlanders out there!!
We plan to leave on the 22nd March – doing the Turkey route and on the Egypt by ferry. Would love to make contact with you and compare notes.

    • Hi Carol,

Thanks for visiting the site. I’ve sent you an email with our contact details. I hope your planning is going well.

      Kind regards,
      Chris

  2. Hi Guys,

    Nice site and route.
Ex South African living in Kenya so if you need any route planning or POI around Kenya let me know.
    Good luck with the overland.

    Regards
    Andrew

  3. Chris, try plan on doing the Ethiopia/Kenya crossing by going via Omorate, and then down the east side of Lake Turkana. Was one of the best parts of our trip, and much much safer than Moyale to Marsabit. Contact me for more details if you need them.
    Cheers
    Steve

    • Cheers Steve,

That’s definitely the plan. We would love to grab those waypoints if you don’t mind.

      How’s Oz treating you guys?

      Chris

  4. Dudes. Have you left yet? Jules was telling me you’re headed to Wales so I was thinking you might wanna get a compass as you need to be headed South.

I guess you have studied the recent Top Gear Africa specials. Bottom line is that you should take a film crew and a supply truck with you, get Jeremy to pimp your ride and get an A.R.U.

    Best.

    • Hi Terry,

We’re leaving tomorrow. Wales was a little detour to double check the car. In the process of installing a loo on our bonnet.

      Chris

  5. hi. all the best with your trip. i would suggest going to mana pools in zimbabwe. basic camping but lots of animals. Beit bridge border crossing isnt nice so would suggest the smaller border posts along botswana. leaving on thursday for botswana overland trip. got yourr website from michelle. all the best. annie

    • Hi Annie,

Thanks for your comment. Mana Pools sounds great – we’ll definitely try and have a look, and thanks for the info regarding the border crossing.

      Enjoy Botswana,
      Chris and Jules

  6. Hello Cuz
I’ve got loads of marking at the mo – hence the time wasting online. Just wondered if you know Lesotho is sort-of land-locked (by South Africa, as one would have it). You may want to reassess the route unless you’re planning on flying into Maseru – but that’s hellish expensive. I’ll let you know if I have any other suggestions.

    • Cheers Matt,

As SA is our final destination I thought I would put it last, but if it bugs you, read it as South Africa, Lesotho, South Africa.

      When are you leaving?

    • Hi Thys, Helena and Darlene,

It was really nice meeting you all. Thanks for all the biltong, koeksisters and boere koffee!

      Chris and Jules
